NEEPCO to execute Kurung Kumey Hydro Power project
Itanagar, Nov 04: The Arunachal Pradesh government has allocated the 330 MW Kurung Kumey Hydro Power project to the North East Electrical Power Corporation (NEEPCO) for execution.
The state cabinet in its meeting on November 1 also approved setting up of a Gas Power Plant at Miao in Changlang district and a Nursing College at the state capital.
It further approved the launching of Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme and CM's Trophy events for Football and Volleyball for both girls and boys. DIPRO
AAPYO demands CM to act
ITANAGAR, Nov 04: Claiming that Planning Department has appointed seven lecturers on a standard term of deputation for a period of three years on July 4, 2011 during the tenure of Ankur Garg as the Secretary of Planning, All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organization (AAPYO) today demanded the chief minister to call back the deputed lecturers and send them back to their respective colleges.
AAPYO in its representation to the CM stated that deputation of lecturers to the Planning Department has further worsened the situation of several colleges that were already facing acute shortage of teachers.
The authority has effected the deputation order despite being aware of the fact that there was acute shortage of teachers in many colleges, the release lamented.
Govt. adopts provision of self certification of documents
NAHARLAGUN, Nov 04: The Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to adopt the recommendations of 12th report of the Second Administrative Reforms Commission with effect from October 21 last where it has recommended adoption of self certification provision for simplifying procedures.
Under the provision, any person can attest and certify his documents like marksheet, birth certificate without going to a gazetted officer to get their certificates attested.

NMWC demands action against vandalism
ITANAGAR, Nov 04: Claiming that some miscreants vandalized a pandal and destroyed the idol of goddess Laxmi in front of Bobin store at Nirjuli on the night of November 2, Nirjuli Market Welfare Committee (NMWC) has demanded the Capital DC to take immediate action against those miscreants involved in the vandalism.
In a letter to the DC, the market welfare committee said every Indian has rights to practice their religion peacefully. But the incident of November 2 night has curtailed the legitimate rights of a majority community of the country.
The committee blamed the lackadaisical attitude of the police of the Nirjuli Police outpost for such lawlessness in Nirjuli area.
UNO comes to support of AACWA
ITANAGAR, Nov 04: The United Nyishi Organization (UNO) has come to the support of All Arunachal Pradesh Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA).
While extending support to the demands of AACWA, the UNO in a release said that the people friendly Government should not hesitate to invite the AACWA to discuss its various demands.

AGYO seeks support for setting up rehabilitation centre
ITANAGAR, Nov 04: Expressing serous concern over increased use of drugs among youths in the state, the All Galo Youth Organization (AGYO) has urged the government to help the organization set up a drugs rehabilitation centre.
In its letter to the health minister, AGYO said that drug use has been increasing among the young boys and girls throughout the state which is a matter of grave concern.
“We must all stand together and fight against this menace by creating awareness about the harmful effects of drugs,” the letter said.

Boleng ZPM seeks action against AERO
ITANAGAR, Nov 04: Alleging that Assistant Election Registration Officer (AERO) of Boleng in East Siang district has carried out voter registration on November 2 at Boleng which was supposed to be held at Suple camp as per the notification, Zilla Parishad Member Oshi Mibang demanded action against the AERO for changing the venue.
In a complaint letter to the Secretary, Election Commission, the ZPM claimed that the AERO had arbitrarily changed the registration venue without giving proper notification to the PRI leaders of the area which has deprived hundreds of people from the registration process.
Seeking the state Election Commission’s intervention in the matter, the ZPM further urged the authority to direct the AERO to strictly abide by Election Commission guidelines.
KV No.2 participates in 44th KVs National Sports Championship

TAWANG, Nov 04: The first ever documentary film on Losar festival, titled ‘Losar, a New Year Festival of Monpas’, produced by IPR Department was released by Tawang Zilla Parishad Chairperson Jambey Tsering in an impressive function at a town hotel here today.
Directed by Radhe Tajung, Assistant Director of the Department, the 30 minutes documentary film is an attempt by the Department to present a complete feature of Losar Festival as observed by the Monpa communities since ages past.
Releasing the documentary in presence of important personalities, including Rinchin Dorjee, former Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Leki Phuntoso, former DIPR, Michiko Wakita, renowned research scholar from Keio University, Japan, and district officers and public, Jambey Tsering lauded the initiative of the IPR Department in documenting one of the important festivals of the Monpa communities. He said that because of modern education the young generations are gradually losing touch with their culture and expressed hope that the documentary would help in promoting the festival. “This is the first attempt of documentation on the festival and so deserves appreciation,” he added.
Phuntso said that the day is a memorable one for people of Tawang and hoped that it would help preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the people. He also explained the background behind the project which was initiated when he was Director of the Department and complemented the Department and all the crew members who helped produce it in record time.
Former APPSC chairman Rinchin Dorjee appreciated the maiden attempt of the Department in documenting Losar. He called upon the youth to come forward to work for the promotion of their culture.
“We should never forget our past, as past gives birth to our present, which in turn gives birth to our future”, he said and urged them to learn from the elders and knowledgeable persons in the society. Earlier, Obang Tayeng, DDIPR, complemented Rinchin Norbu, Chairman, Losel Nyinje Library, Tawang, for his dedicated support and coordination extended to the department during the making of the documentary. He stressed on the documentation of our respective traditional heritages, and expressed hope that the maiden attempt of the department would help showcase the festival to a wider public. He further said that the cassette would be made available to all the districts of the state.

World Sunday School Day celebrated at CRC Naharlagun
ITANAGAR, Nov 04: The Sunday School Department of Christian Revival Church Naharlagun (Central church of APCRCC) has joined the rest of the world in celebrating the World Sunday School Day on November 3.

The first exercises were held in China's Kunming city followed by the second round at Belgaum in Karanataka in 2008.
The next round was called off by India following the denial of visa to a top General heading troops in Jammu and Kashmir on the grounds that the region formed part of disputed territory.
The two sides resumed contacts after China rescinded its decision and began issuing regular visas to residents of Jammu and Kashmir, a move that facilitated a broad engagement between the two giant neighbours.
However, border tensions flared up when Chinese troops pitched tents deep inside the Indian side of Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh region in April this year.
It was resolved subsequently ahead of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's visit to New Delhi followed by return visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here last month.
During Singh's visit, the two countries signed the Border Defence Cooperation Agreement (BDCA) which both sides believe would effectively address a host of issues causing tension at the disputed border.

We are against illegal land encroachment

Hats off to Tagin Cultural Society (TCS) for arranging an open meeting at Rijo ground on 24th Oct 2013 to discuss regarding issue of proposed realignment of Trans Arunachal Highway by bypassing Daporijo Township from its original alignment and rampant illegal land encroachment at Daporijo including that of festival ground cum cremation ground. In the meeting it was observed that all the participants have strongly opposed the realignment of TAH by bypassing Daporijo and demanded for original alignment through existing BRTF road. Also it was revealed in the meeting that some people are eyeing for burial ground and everyone in the meeting had criticized this very idea of grabbing burial ground.
The news of realignment of TAH by bypassing Daporijo Township is a very serious issue. It has touched the sentiments of Tagin community in particular and township dwellers as a whole. Such proposal defeat the very purpose of the policy and objectives envisaged by govt, of India wherein every pockets of the region would be connected through better road facility. Therefore, VDTAWA, appeal the concern authority to look into the matter and fulfill the need of the people otherwise VDTAWA will launch a series of joint democratic protest.
Regarding, Protection and preservation of public properties like burial ground, airfield,
and festival ground etc. VDTAWA has been repeatedly requesting to the Govt for taking
action on priority. If it is not preserved and protected, we sincerely urge upon
the govt to return us our donated land to our possession. Our sacrifice cannot be
ignored at any level and we VDTAWA cannot be a mute spectator in illegal and forceful
grabbing of govt land which we have donated free of cost for establishment of District
Headquarter vide notification no. LR-

anguish, to the authorities concerned about the painful experience we have gone through.
With a heavy heart and shattered hopes, we have written this article in reference
to the recently conducted ACF exam by APPSC. Being forestry students we were very
hopeful that after clearing written exam, physical test and medical test finally
we would be harvesting the fruit of years of hard work in our field i.e., forestry.
We both had done our graduation in forestry which is purely a “professional course”
and which made us believe that we were the deserving candidates for the post. But,
unfortunately even after reaching till viva-

No equality in practical world
Dear Editor,
Well I am not against the founding father of Constitution of India but I am of the view that Article 14, Right to Equality need to be abolished. The reason is simple, there is so much of inequality in society and the rule/law which can never be implemented in letter and spirit definitely need to be abolished. The Equality instead of Right may be made as privilege.
Without going into so many comparisons, I just would like to cite an example. Just take the example of Doctor (both human and veterinary) and Lawyer. When a Doctor gets government job he is given NPA (non practicing Allowance) whereas when lawyer gets a government job he is debarred from practicing as lawyer and in return he gets nothing (no NPA). Irony of the story is that Doctor keeps on practicing in private clinic etc. despite so many orders etc.
From above you must have understood that LLB degree is not equal to MBBS/BV&AH. The equality is utopian; it really does not exist at all. Sorry all the Doctors nothing personal/ just an observation.

Opinion poll divides political parties
With general election nearing, the political parties have started sparring over the issue of opinion polls. The BJP is of the view that only losers demand a ban on such surveys even as the Congress said it never sought such a prohibition. CPM said it has no objection on conducting of the opinion polls but the results should not be published once the election process starts. It also cautioned against manipulation of such polls. AICC wrote to Election Commission last week favouring restriction on the publication and dissemination of opinion polls during polls while noting that the random surveys were "erroneous", "lack credibility" and could be "manipulated" by vested interests.
The opinion poll is quite popular in the West. Numerous opinion polls are conducted before election giving chance to the voters to express their preference. In India opinion poll has never been popular among political parties. They bitterly oppose these polls whenever things do not go their way. Many political parties have been demanding for ban on opinion poll. At present, there is a ban on opinion polls starting 48 hours before voting. The debate about reliability of opinion poll may continue, however, for the ordinary citizen it offers the chance to gauge mood of electorate before the big battle.
